This morning when I walked up to my office door the door knob was covered in hawaiian lays and one rubber duck. There was a sign posted that read “Last week of MFuge Next week equals paradise. ” When I opened my door, the girls who work with me had covered my office with lays and small hawaiian rubber ducks. Needless to say, it was quite a surprise this morning to see all the new decorations. The girls who have worked with me this summer, Meghan and Amber, have been giving of themselves selfishly since the beginning of May. I know they are ready for this week to be over. I have a week and a half left of classes then my life will suddenly become extremely different. I will just have to work without going to class. I’m not so sure what I am going to do with myself. Granted, I have some wedding stuff that I will have to finish up but for the most part I will have a lot of free time on my hands. Trust me, I am not complaining. I wish I had a picture of my office to post, but my camera is broken.

Be careful what you ask for… July 22, 2008
I know it’s been awhile since I have posted anything on here, and have been threatened that if I don’t post soon I will be taken off of Jonathan’s Blog Roll. Since, I don’t dare want that to happen, I decided to catch you all up on everything that’s been going on lately.
Things have been so crazy in my life lately that I have not even had a chance to hardly think about anything except what was coming next. Last week, thankfully, I got to go on vacation. Jonathan and I went to the upstate to spend some time with his family. It was so fun to get away from all the stresses of life here in Charleston and hang out with my future in-laws. By the way, that is kind of a funny word for such sweet people like Jonathan’s parents. Anyway, random thought. Monday, Jonathan picked me up for lunch and after we ate, I said.”Let’s go on an adventure!” “Take me somewhere I have never been before.” See at this point we had nothing planned for the week except for Friday. So, Jonathan drove over to this beautiful lake and we got out, walked around, and it was so peaceful. Jonathan saw some men fishing and wanted to go fishing himself. So, about the time he went to ask the warden about a fishing permit, his phone rang….and that is where the adventure started.
See, his mom left that morning to help take the kids at Northwood, their home church, to camp in Georgia. That call was from his mom informing him that the bus had broken down. She was stranded at the Wendys off an exit in Georgia about 17 miles from the camp. So, we left the lake and had to go pick her up. While we were on our way to pick her up, Jonathan’s phone rang again. This time the news was worse. It was a call from one of his friend’s mom asking him to conduct the funeral service for her dad. So, needless to say, Jonathan had to a prepared for a funeral on Wednesday. We got to Georgia and picked up Jonathan’s mom at the Wendys and headed back to Greer.
Tuesday was not as crazy, but busier than we had hoped for seeing that it was supposed to be vacation. We went to lunch and started shopping for me a black dress. Jonathan was also looking for a minister’s manual that came in very handy. We didn’t have to worry about Jonathan’s black suit because I got dad to overnight it to him. Wednesday was the funeral and Jonathan really did a great job comforting the family, and telling great stories to make them laugh. Jonathan is going to make a great pastor!!
Thursday was our day to relax, we didn’t really do much of anything and we deserved it after the crazy start to the week. The saying goes be careful what you ask for because you just might get it, and I sure learned my lesson. I asked for an adventure, and boy did I get it!

Engagement pictures! June 13, 2008
Jonathan and I had our engagement pictures taken on Tuesday. As you all know, we were supposed to have them taken at Sarge Frye. I called to ask permission and everything. When we arrived the parking lot was packed, and I knew right away that it wasn’t a good sign. I walked up the field to see what was going on and there was a tournament going on– go Figure! So, plan B was to go to the horseshoe on USC’s campus to get them taken. Well, that’s where we ended up! Here are a few of my favorites. I will get the rest back in a week or so. For now, I will leave you with these two. Also, you can see a few others here.
SOO fun!! June 10, 2008
Today is going to be a fun day!! I can’t wait!! First of all, I have the day off which can make any day great. This morning, I’m going to be my haircut at Stella Nova. I will also be talking to them about doing my hair for the wedding. Then its off to lunch with a friend of mine, I’m not sure where we are going but I’m sure it will be a good time. Afterwards, I get to go pick up my wedding dress!! The scary problem with that is Jonathan is living at my parent’s house now. So, I have already told him he can’t be there today when I bring it home. I don’t want to take any chances of him even getting a peek. This afternoon we are going to Columbia to get our engagement pictures taken! Also in Columbia, we are going to visit my friend Rachel and meet baby Caleb. Well, I don’t want to spend anymore time typing, I will post some engagement pictures as soon as possible.
Past the 200 Mark! June 5, 2008
Only 198 days to go until the wedding!! Not that I’m counting or anything. HA! Please be praying for Jonathan and I as the day gets closer. We still have a lot of things up in the air like my job, seminary, etc. We are trusting in the Lord and know that He will provide for us! Pray that we will be obedient and follow his direction.
6 Months!!.. Well close enough! June 3, 2008
I got my dress fitted last Wednesday at the bridal shop, and yesterday morning they called to tell me it was ready. I have to say I am a little surprised because I thought it would take much longer than it did. I was originally supposed to go back on the 18th of June, but it’s ready, WOW! I hope that’s not a bad thing! Anyway, I’m going to think positive! Next Tuesday, we have our engagement session at Sarge Frye, the baseball stadium at Carolina. I am really excited about it because I think its going to be so much fun! I will post some of the pictures as soon as I get them back from Brooke, our photographer!
A Helpmate June 2, 2008
As most of you know, I am finishing up my MBA this summer. I am taking two classes on-line, one is an elective and the other is a required course. The problem with the classes is the amount of the work that is required each Sunday is absolutely absurd. I probably spend at least two or three hours a night doing homework. These classes are intended for people who are also working full-time jobs and most have families. The worst part is the professor is a Baptist pastor in Hampton, SC yet he is so ruthless with the assignments and the comments he leaves, it really makes me think. I’m telling you all this to say, I have the greatest fiance in the entire world. Last night, he really showed me how excellent of a husband he is going to be. I was so frustrated with the amount of work I still had left at 10pm, he looked me in the eye and said “We have to share our burdens, so let me help you with your work.” I was so surprised, yet extremely grateful at his offer. I fell even more in love with him (I know I didn’t think it was possible either) than ever.
Now girls, I just want you to take note, that I did indeed end up with the greatest man in the entire world. That is all..
Take Me Out To The Ballgame… May 27, 2008
Today, Jonathan bought tickets to go see the Braves on July 18th during my vacation. I’m so excited because I have never been to see a major league baseball game. I was already looking forward to my vacation because of the stresses of work, but this makes me even more excited. Jonathan recently got back from a Braves game with his friend Caleb, and brought me back a Jeff Francoeur t-shirt. I can’t wait to go see them at Turner field. This sounds a little crazy but one of the other things I am excited about is getting one of those foam Number 1 fingers. I always thought those looked cool on TV! The countdown is on … 52 more days til the game (oh! and 207 until our wedding!!)
