For the past week, we have heard nothing from CSU but Hanna was headed directly for Charleston. CSU totally freaked out about the storm all week. I know there is a lot of responsiblity on there hands’ with liability so don’t get me wrong here. I just kept thinking “are they watching the same news that I am ?” Well all week they have anticipated this storm by having meeting after meeting. All to accomplish not much of anything. Keep in the mind this has only been a tropical storm. If you have ever lived on the coast for any period of time, you understand that during the summer some thunderstorms are worse than a tropical storm. Well, its 10:30 on Friday evening and Hanna is almost directly East of Charleston and it’s hardly raining and the winds are minimal. I am extremely thankful that it wasn’t anymore damaging than it turned out to be. I have been praying for the Lord to shift the storm away from our coast. Although we still have plenty of rain, He has been faithful. I am so excited about my bridal portraits tomorrow afternoon. It is going to make me wish the wedding was closer than it actually is. By the way, only 105 days to go!! YES!! The invitations are in, but there is so much addressing to do. Hopefully, we will get those out by the beginning of October. We also have our first shower in a couple of weeks on September 20th. One last thing I want to mention, Jonathan and I are so excited about Calvary Baptist Church. We are so blessed to have such a caring church family who has extended their hospitality and has given us such a warm welcome. We can’t wait to see what the Lord is going to do through our ministry at Calvary.
Past the 200 Mark! June 5, 2008
Only 198 days to go until the wedding!! Not that I’m counting or anything. HA! Please be praying for Jonathan and I as the day gets closer. We still have a lot of things up in the air like my job, seminary, etc. We are trusting in the Lord and know that He will provide for us! Pray that we will be obedient and follow his direction.
Home sweet Home May 19, 2008
This weekend, I went to Wake Forest/Raleigh to start looking for a new home for Jonathan and I while he is in seminary. I thought it would be an all day process because of all the possible places in the triangle area. Much to my surprise, I found this great place and it was only the second stop. It is only four or five miles from Southeastern. I can’t even begin to describe the place! It’s like the country in the middle of the city. I took some pictures of the place on my dad’s camera because mine currently broken. I will post those pictures later, but if you are interested in checking it out go here. I’m so excited about it because when you step into the apartment, it feels like home. It’s a really warm feeling, exactly what I like! I can’t wait to move in August and get it ready for Jonathan in December. Things are really coming together! The Lord is so Good!!
Exciting News!! April 22, 2008
I have some exciting news to share! I finally got an email back from a firm that I sent my resume to a couple of weeks ago. If you missed the post about my job searching, you can read about it here. I have been praying a lot lately for the Lord to direct me in the way he wants me to go as far as a career is concerned. The email said they would follow-up with me tomorrow, so please pray that everything goes well. Whether this door is shut permanently or is opened a little more, I pray that I would continue to trust and have faith that the Lord is going to take care of us! Thanks so much for prayers!! I will keep you updated when I get more information!!
I don’t want to grow up… April 1, 2008
With my 26th birthday fastly approaching, the more I realize how much responsibility has been placed on my life. There are lot of changes happening, which are good, but often frustrating because I’m not sure where I will land.
Job Hunting: Looking for a job is probably one of the most nerve-racking processes on Earth. Follow me on this one, you send out your resume to a lot of people who don’t even know you exist. You know you are a hard worker, dedicated to your employer, but they don’t so you must convince them. Talk about awkward when you walk into a place you have never been before and have to put yourself on display like you are for sale. So, needless to say, I’m not to excited about this part of the new change.
Moving: This I’m pretty excited about! I have been living in what I like to call the cement palace for the last two years and I am certainly ready for a change! Granted, it’s free but I’m so ready for my own place to call home! Jonathan and I are planning on buying a house (after I find that job) and so be praying for us as we go through this uncharted territory!
Getting Married: Save the best for last right? Well, I did in this case! I’m so excited about getting married! Everything has come together and the plans have pretty much been made! The dress is ordered and it will be here in June, all the bridesmaids have their dresses, the cake has been ordered and I’ve booked the photographer and DJ. (check out the photographer here!) So times are changing around here and it couldn’t be better!
