Today, Jonathan bought tickets to go see the Braves on July 18th during my vacation. I’m so excited because I have never been to see a major league baseball game. I was already looking forward to my vacation because of the stresses of work, but this makes me even more excited. Jonathan recently got back from a Braves game with his friend Caleb, and brought me back a Jeff Francoeur t-shirt. I can’t wait to go see them at Turner field. This sounds a little crazy but one of the other things I am excited about is getting one of those foam Number 1 fingers. I always thought those looked cool on TV! The countdown is on … 52 more days til the game (oh! and 207 until our wedding!!)
No Life! May 23, 2008
So, I have come to the conclusion that I have no life. I am almost finished with my masters degree at CSU. I am taking my last two classes on-line. I have always tried to avoid these on-line classes because I don’t like teaching myself material, that’s why I pay the professor. The amount of work that is involved with these two classes is almost to the point of being ridiculous. I have spent at least two hours every night since Tuesday night working on all the assignments. Much to my dismay, I’m still not finished with the stuff due on Sunday evening. This stuff is literally taking over my life. Jonathan has been gone since Wednesday, so I have had the time to spend on it. I am really going to hate it when he is here and I can’t hang out because I have so much work to accomplish. I have come to the conclusion that this professor has it made. He doesn’t have to ever come to CSU or have office hours. At the beginning of the semester, he posts everything we need for the entire semester and we go at it. So basically, we pay him to teach ourselves. Seems like he has a great job! I need one like that! HA!
Be careful little mouth what you say.. May 22, 2008
Tonight I learned a great lesson. Sometimes people say things without thinking who could be listening. I don’t mean this in a creepy stalker type way but instead in a common sense way. Tonight, I invited one of the girls who work for me over to watch a new show on fox, “So you think you can dance.” Little did I know she was just obliging me by accepting my invitation. Well it was a little after eight, the time which the show had started, I went to get my laptop because I needed to work on some homework. As I was walking out of my apartment, she was walking into her dorm room where she is staying this summer. I heard, “she wants me to watch some stupid two hour show about dancing and I don’t think I can do that.” At first, I thought well, she certainly didn’t mean for me to hear this. The more I have pondered this comment, the more I have thought that people say things without even thinking. I sure we have all made this same mistake. Afterwards, we feel awful because we found out they heard us. The problem here is she has no idea that I was even around. The reason being my office connects to her room by a bathroom so if anyone is talking in there I can hear. What this has taught me is to be extremely careful about what I say anytime, anywhere. Jonathan blogged on a similar topic here. So, tonight’s lesson is to always always be careful about what you say when talking where someone you don’t expect could be listening.
Happy Birthday Caleb! May 21, 2008
Jonathan went out of town today after church to go visit his best friend, Caleb. See, tomorrow is Caleb’s 21st birthday and his dad bought some tickets for the guys to go to a home braves game. Jonathan hasn’t said anything to me, but I know he is absolutely excited about the game. See what you don’t know is Jonathan is a die hard fan of the Atlanta Braves. He counts down to spring training, knows the pitching line up for the games, and probably anything you could imagine about the braves. I just thought I like baseball until I met him. I would watch a game every once in a while, but if the braves are on at 7pm we have to eat and get everything done before then so Jonathan doesn’t miss the first pitch.
So, I say all this to say, Jonathan, I hope you have the best time at the game! Savor the memories and I will look for you on TV!!
PS. Tell Caleb I said Happy Birthday!
Jonathan’s Favorite May 20, 2008
Yesterday, I promised pictures to come but unfortunately my dad didn’t bring the cord. So, no pictures today. I will try to get them off sometime soon! Keep Checking back! Instead here is a recipe of one of Jonathan’s favorite dishes. He thinks I’m a good cook! : )
Lasagna
Lasanga Noodles
Spaghetti sauce (any jar type mariana sauce)
Ricotta Cheese (16oz. I believe)
Shredded Mozzarella Cheese ( 2 to 3 cups depending on your like of cheese)
Ground Beef (I use about a half of a pound)
Chopped Bell Pepper (1/4 cup)
onion Salt (to taste)
Worcestershire sauce ( to taste)
Boil Noodles for about 10 to 12 minutes until al dente. Drain well. Brown ground beef in a pan until well cooked. While browning, add Worcestershire sauce to taste, as well as onion salt and chopped green peppers. When meat is finished, at marinara sauce and let simmer for about 20 minutes. When finished, Layer noodles, meat, ricotta cheese, and half of mozzarella. Repeat with noodles, meat and sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
Home sweet Home May 19, 2008
This weekend, I went to Wake Forest/Raleigh to start looking for a new home for Jonathan and I while he is in seminary. I thought it would be an all day process because of all the possible places in the triangle area. Much to my surprise, I found this great place and it was only the second stop. It is only four or five miles from Southeastern. I can’t even begin to describe the place! It’s like the country in the middle of the city. I took some pictures of the place on my dad’s camera because mine currently broken. I will post those pictures later, but if you are interested in checking it out go here. I’m so excited about it because when you step into the apartment, it feels like home. It’s a really warm feeling, exactly what I like! I can’t wait to move in August and get it ready for Jonathan in December. Things are really coming together! The Lord is so Good!!
Wedding Update! May 13, 2008
The wedding is getting closer,YAY! It’s only 7months away and we are so excited! Everything is coming together great. The save-the-dates are out, the cake is ordered, the bridesmaid dresses are in and the most exciting news of all is MY dress is here!! I went to try it on Saturday and absolutely love it!! I can’t wait!!! We are planning on doing our engagement pictures at Sagre Fry, the Carolina baseball stadium. As some of you know, I graduated from USC in 2004 and Jonathan is a huge Carolina and baseball fan. So, we thought this was a perfect place. We are planning on having these done in June. I will post some pictures as soon as I get them from our photographer. You can also go directly to her site here. I am planning on doing my bridal portraits at the end of July downtown Charleston. I can’t post those, but if you want to see them just let me know! That’s all the updates I have for now!
